Woodchuck Wednesdays

When: Every Wednesday, September 25 – October 23, 3:30 – 5 pm

Who: Grades 1 – 4

$75/members, $90/non-members

Catch the WES bus or a ride to Sheep Hill for this 5 week, Wednesday afterschool program this spring. Kids will get outside and explore nature through storytelling, shelter building, hiking, habitat exploration and more! A light snack will be provided.

Williamstown Rural Lands is committed to making our kids programs available to all families and we offer sliding scale scholarships for all programs. Email programs@rurallands.org to discuss!

Program location

Sheep Hill (671 Cold Spring Rd., Williamstown) is the office location for Williamstown Rural Lands. Kids programs will meet in the Dietze Interpretive Center, a refurbished dairy barn, or the Rosenburg Room, an indoor classroom space in the farmhouse. Programs are mostly outdoors except for inclement weather (extreme cold/hot, heavy rain/snow/ice). Outdoor spaces include our Nature Cabin exploration center, Josiah’s Pond, Hemlock Brook, and all the fields and hedgerow forests at Sheep Hill.

Information packet for parents will be provided before the start of the program.

Drop-off transportation is available from WES via the Bugs Bunny bus with written permission. Parents should check with the principal about bus capacity in advance.

The Center for Learning in Action at Williams College provides us with student interns and funding. They have requested pictures of their students in action with the kids for internal communications. Williamstown Rural Lands may also use photos or videos from the program for publicity, including parent updates, WRL enews or broader promotions. I give permission for photographs or videos of my child to be used for:

program use (shared with other parents)

internal use (shared with WRL members, for instance in the WRL enews)

public use (shared on social media or WRL publicity)
