As Executive Director, David teaches, negotiates land deals, and generally works towards Rural Lands’ goal of preserving the local environment for everyone. An avid outdoorsman, he has hundreds of bird calls recognized, goes canoe camping at the same site in the Adirondacks every year, and bikes to work whenever he can. David has worked in the environmental field for almost 30 years.
David has a MS in Resource Management and Administration from Antioch College and started his career with the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation. Based in Boston, he spent years with DCR and The Nature Conservancy. Immediately before his current position, he was Senior Land Protection Specialist at Mass Audubon. In 2017, after many years of loving the Berkshires from afar, he made the jump to Rural Lands and moved with his family to Williamstown.
