Stewardship Day: Berlin Pass Trail Boardwalk

Stewardship Day: Berlin Pass Trail Boardwalk

When

08/15/2021
10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Where

Mt. Berlin Trailhead
Berlin Road, Williamstown, MA

Event Type

After many years of wading through water to hike the Berlin Pass, we’re doing something about it. Join us as we construct a boardwalk at the start of this classic ascent to the Taconic Crest. It will connect to a new section of trail being built this autumn by the Student Conservation Association. Work involves clearing a corridor of small trees and branches, digging in dirt and mud; cutting and moving lumber a short distance, and fastening it together. Carpentry experience helpful, but not required. All tools will be provided. Please bring your own water, snack, work gloves, and mask. Wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather. Work area is unshaded: hat and sunscreen recommended. Meet at the parking lot at the end of Berlin Road. RSVP Required.

This workday features two shifts:
First shift: 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. (8/9/2021: THIS SHIFT IS FULL)
Second shift: 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Participation will be limited to 6 participants. RSVP with this Google Form.
