Three Hills in Williamstown
Distance: 4.5 miles
Difficulty: Moderately strenuous
Hike Leader: Dusty Griffin
The route goes up and over three hills on either side of the Taconic Trail, affording great views: 1) Tenney Hill, on land given to Rural Lands by the Tenney Family; 2) Bee Hill; and 3) Foxcroft Hill in the Taconic Trail State Park. Part of the trail follows Bee Hill Extension, a dirt road once part of the Greenfield-to-Albany Turnpike, past old cellar holes and a still-standing 18th-century house. From the top of Bee Hill you descend into Flora’s Glen to the RRR Brooks Trail, leading you out of the woods into old farm fields, and to a grassy hilltop, once the site of Foxcroft Farm, owned by the Tenneys. Moderately strenuous with a couple of steep uphill segments.
