Geology on the trails of Stone Hill
Distance: 2 miles
Difficulty: Easier
Hike Leader: Mark Brandriss
Every rock is a messenger from the past, and we’ll read the stories written in rocks and landscapes of Stone Hill and the surrounding valleys and ranges. Our gentle 2-mile hike on hilly woodland trails will take us from the birth of the Appalachians to the end of the last Ice Age, with several stops along the way to discuss geologic features.
Families are welcome, but the geology discussions will be at an adult level. Meet in the parking area of the Clark Art Institute’s Lunder Center on Stone Hill. (Click on the WHERE link above for google maps location)
