Join Williamstown Rural Lands naturalist, Dana Williams, at Margaret Lindley Park to learn about our hemlock forests, their human and natural history, and threats to their future on this easy, slow-paced 1.5 mile loop walk. We will keep an eye out for animal signs on our way and check the beaver pond at Harmon Pond for activity. Dogs welcome on a leash.
We will meet at Margaret Lindley Park (1201 Cold Spring Rd., Williamstown). There is a medium-sized dirt parking lot with some potholes.
Please check the weather before arriving and bring appropriate clothing (warm, non-cotton layers). Cramp-ons or hiking poles are recommended in case of ice on the trails. Hunting season is ongoing – Hemlock Brook is closed to hunting but orange or bright colors are appreciated nonetheless!
