Event Type

Join us on Friday, May 5 at 7:30 am to look for our returning migratory neighbors – the spring birds! Former Audubon chapter president and local Tommy Richey will guide you by sound and sight to meet migratory birds taking up spring residency at Sheep Hill such as Warblers, Eastern Phoebes, Baltimore Orioles, and American Kestrels.

Please bring water, snacks if you’d like, and wear sturdy shoes. If you have binoculars, please bring them; we’ll have a few loaner pairs if you don’t.

Tommy Richey is a Williamstown resident and the former president of the New Hope Audubon Society chapter of Audubon North Carolina. A lifelong enthusiast of the outdoors, Tommy got into birding by wondering “what’s that?” Identifying one bird after another led to an enduring passion for learning about and protecting birds and the habitats that sustain them.
