From the plants we bring in on purpose to the plants that are accidentally introduced and then become pests, invasive plants have numerous stories of how they got here and spread, their impact and what we might do about them. Come explore these stories of invasion and more with Joan Edwards, Samuel Fessenden Clarke Professor of Biology from Williams College. Afterwards, WRL staff will introduce our upcoming invasive plant volunteer days.

This talk will be both in-person and on zoom. Registration required for zoom link. Link will be emailed out the night before the talk (March 15). For questions or accommodations, email programs@rurallands.org.

Sheep Hill is located at 671 Cold Spring Rd., Williamstown, MA.

Parking at Sheep Hill. There are two small-sized gravel parking lot: one is at the bottom of the driveway by the road and the other is behind the farmhouse. There is one ADA accessible parking spot just in front of the farmhouse building. Overflow parking is available at the Bullock Ledge Wildlife Management Area Parking just before the Sheep Hill driveway. Please be careful walking along Rt. 2 if you park here!

Indoor space: This talk will take place in the Rosenburg Room in the Sheep Hill farmhouse, an indoor, heated space. Seating will be provided and bathrooms are available. The farmhouse is ADA accessible.
