Wobbly table? Lamp that won’t light? A hole in that elbow? Mosquitos getting through your screen?
Bring your tired sweater, your broken table, the cast-away knife without a handle — all that is huddled in the corner — to the Autumn Repair Café, a bi-annual fix-it event organized by the amazing South Williamstown Community Association (SWCA) and hosted by Williamstown Rural Lands at Sheep Hill, 671 Cold Spring Rd., Williamstown. Volunteer fixers will be ready to conduct repairs to small electrical things, costume jewelry, and leather and furniture. They will sharpen knives, darn and sew clothes, and — this just in: re-screen your screen windows. And much more.
There’ll be computer experts, too. Pick up a free reusable bag, thanks to the SWCA partnership with the BagShare Project.
Repair Café is free, and donations are accepted and appreciated to keep the organizational wheels lubricated. It’s all about helping our neighbors and helping our planet. Refreshments are provided, and kids are welcome. Make a day of it and walk the hill or explore the pond.
