Join Williamstown Rural Lands and MassWildlife for a special tour of Bullocks Ledge on Friday, January 21 at 1 pm.

The Commonwealth’s smallest Wildlife Management Area is in for big changes.  Squeezed between Sheep Hill and Hemlock Brook, the Bullocks Ledge Wildlife Management Area (WMA) plays host to an uncommon plant community of state-wide significance.

Unfortunately, the habitat has been degraded.  So, the owner of the property, the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife (MassWildlife) intends to undertake a landscape restoration project to restore it.  Treatment will involve the removal of non-native invasive plant species and aggressive White Pine trees.

Restoration work began last fall and will continue this winter.  Come learn more about the ecology of Bullocks Ledge and what’s being done to revive it.

Abutters and public welcome.  Park at WRL’s Sheep Hill headquarters and walk to Bullocks Ledge.
