Winter Tree & Shrub Identification
Winter has begun, again! Come learn and practice identifying woody plant species around here using characteristics of stems, buds and plant architecture. Participants will learn key terminology and practice hands-on identification. No prior botanical knowledge is required. Bring a hand lens if you have one.
Dr. Robin Sears will lead this hands-on workshop at Sheep Hill using MCLA Prof. Eric Doucette’s handy winter woody species key. We’ll start indoors and head outdoors. Knowledge is power, so let’s know the plants.
