Get to know your Forester! Meet Averill Cook at Wendling Farm in Williamstown.This is the second in a series of site visits to our area Working Lands to meet the people who work them!
Tour the forest with Averill and learn about the history of wood use for energy, paper, and building materials. Find out about how our woodlands help keep our air and water clean. Get to know the ideal growing conditions, and how to measure trees for their energy and lumber value. The program is for all ages and will take place rain or shine; participants should wear appropriate clothing for being outdoors!
Registration is required and is limited to 20 participants. Tickets are free for members and $3 per person for non-members. (Under 5 are free.) If you want to become a member, your admission for all Working Lands visits will be free. Become a member. Meet at Wendling Farm on Saturday April 2 at 12:00 Noon. The visit will last approximately 1 1/2 hours.
