We are pleased to introduce the new Executive Director of Williamstown Rural Lands (WRL) Board of Directors. A Williamstown resident, Robin Sears brings a wealth of experience in land and forest management, forest policy, sustainable agriculture, and environmental education. She brings many years of organizational leadership and management to the position.
Robin is a New England native with roots in the Pioneer Valley, including a Bachelor of Science in botany from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She has a degree in forestry from Yale University and a doctorate in ecology from Columbia University. After decades of work in the international sphere, Robin returned to the Valley in 2016 as Visiting Professor of Forestry at Hampshire College. She deepened her connection to our local landscape during a Charles Bullard Fellowship at the Harvard Forest in 2018, after which she put down roots in Williamstown. More about Robin’s background and qualifications can be found here.
We encourage you to join us in welcoming Robin at our Sheep to Shawl festival celebrating New England heritage at Sheep Hill on May 7.
We appreciate the interest and support of our community to make WRL a truly vibrant, strong organization supporting forests, fields, and farms – for you, forever.
