Join the WLR community for a Talk on the Hill presentation by WRL Trail Committee Chair Cosmo Catalano Jr.
“Managing the Appalachian Trail: 101 Years in 20 minutes! Cosmo explains, “From a 1921 utopian vision of a place for the masses to escape growing urbanization, to an iconic, world-renowned recreational and conservation resource, the Appalachian Trail is made possible by private and public entities working towards a common goal. Are there lessons here for managing trails in Williamstown?”

Cosmo Catalano is in his 4th year as Chair of WRL’s Trails Committee. He has served as a volunteer on the Appalachian Trail for more than 20 years, and continues to play a role in the local maintenance and management of the A.T. Retired from the Williams College Department of Theatre in 2016, he enjoys the “backstage” work of working with others to make sure trails for hikers of all abilities, experience and interests will be a part of the landscape for many years to come.
The talk will take place on Thursday, April 7th from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm on zoom. A Q&A sessions will follow the talk.
