Join us for our first Trail Stewardship day of the season as we cut an extension from the Smith Trail to the Buxton Ravine Trail. This project will join these two trails and add a moderate-distance hiking loop through Rural Lands’ Smith Property and the Town of Williamstown’s Hunter Lot.
Work will involve stooping, bending, digging with hand tools, cutting with hand saws, raking, and pruning. We will hike 0.4 miles to the work site, through steep terrain. There is also a small stream crossing at the trailhead. All instruction and tools will be provided. Wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather. Please bring your own water, snack, and work gloves.
