West Branch Green River Cleanup with HooRWA

Join us and our HooRWA friends for a river cleanup along the banks of the Green River’s west branch! The workday will be at our West Branch Green River Conservation Area property — affectionately known as ‘West Branch’ — and will involve cleanup work at an old farm dump in the river bank.

The worksite is a 5-10 minute walk from the parking area on Old Mill Road and features two small stream crossings and uneven footing.

Cleanup work will involve walking up and down the riverbank, stooping and picking up small pieces of metal and glass, cans and bottles, and carrying bagged trash from the worksite back to the parking area. Working at the site does not require getting in the river.

Please wear boots or thick-soled shoes, and leather gloves if you have them. We will have a few extra pairs on-hand.

Please sign up using the form below. Participation capped at 6 volunteers.

Rain postpones to the next day, Sunday (9/25), 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. In the event of postponement, we will update this site and email participants who have signed up ahead of time.
